The gold-colored front and case meet a transparent strap, a contrast that gives the A168XESG-9AEF a more experimental fashion profile than the family's metal strap versions. The A168 form has been used since the late 1980s and was awarded the Good Design Long Life Design Award in 2011. In this variant, the simple square digital geometry is highlighted by a cohesive gold tone, while the strap leaves the wrist visually open.
Materials & fit
The case measures 39.4 × 36.3 mm and is 9.7 mm high. The weight is 25 grams. The case and bezel are made of resin with a gold-colored finish, while resin glass covers the display. The transparent strap is also resin and creates a clear contrast against the rich gold color. The strap consists of wide, transparent links. Casio states a compatible wrist circumference of 138–215 mm.

- The long-lasting CR2016 battery provides approximately seven years of use, with a specified deviation of ±30 seconds per month.
- The hundredth-second stopwatch measures up to 59 minutes and 59.99 seconds and handles total time, split time, and first and second place times.
