Casio Edifice – motorsport design in a wristwatch
Casio launched Edifice in the year 2000, and the series has since drawn its design language from motorsport: speed scales, chronograph hands, and deep, multidimensional dials reminiscent of a race car's dashboard. Casio Edifice has been an official partner to Toyota Racing in the World Endurance Championship since January 2026 and previously collaborated with the Formula 1 team Scuderia Toro Rosso. The series is aimed at those who want a sporty Casio watch with precision and style rather than pure ruggedness.
What ties Edifice together is the combination of design language and function. Most models in the range feature a chronograph, all are water-resistant to 10 ATM, and all are powered by quartz movements – in several cases charged by solar cells.
Casio Edifice with chronograph
The chronograph is the core of Edifice. It allows you to time laps or activities directly from the dial, with separate stopwatch hands and push buttons on the side of the case. Some models also feature a tachymeter scale for estimating speed. If you want to understand the difference between quartz, automatic, and solar-powered movements before you choose, you can read Kronura's guide to the right movement.
Materials and glass – steel, mineral glass, and sapphire crystal
A Casio Edifice is recognized by its steel. Most models have stainless steel bracelets, while a smaller number have leather straps. The glass varies between models: about one-third of the range has sapphire crystal, including all EFB and EFS models, while the others have mineral glass. Sapphire crystal resists scratches better than mineral glass. Which glass a particular watch has is always stated in the product specification.
All Edifice models in Kronura's range are water-resistant to 10 ATM. If you want to understand what the ATM figure means in practice, Kronura's guide how to interpret water resistance and ATM will help. For an overview of case and glass materials, there is also the guide on watch materials.
EFV, EFR, EFB, ECB, and EFS – choose the right Edifice series
The Edifice range at Kronura consists of five series that differ in glass, functions, and price.
EFV and EFR are the entry point to the collection: analog watches with mineral glass, without Bluetooth. Almost all EFR models feature a chronograph, while the EFV series mixes chronographs and simpler three-hand models. Many of them can be found in the segment men's watches 1,000–2,000 SEK.
EFB features sapphire crystal on all models and is available in sizes from 38 to 48 mm – the series for those who want scratch-resistant glass without paying for Bluetooth.
ECB are the most technically equipped models, with Bluetooth connection to your mobile, world time, and on several models, solar power. Most ECBs have mineral glass, while a few have sapphire crystal.
EFS combines sapphire crystal, a chronograph, and solar power in an analog watch without Bluetooth.
Casio Edifice as an office watch
Edifice feels just as comfortable in a conference room as it does at a racetrack. The cases range from 38 to 50 mm in diameter, with most being between 40 and 49 mm. The polished steel and deep dials create an impression that works well with a blazer. If you are unsure about the size, Kronura's guide on watch size is a good resource.
The ECB models with Bluetooth are practical in professional life: the time is set via your mobile, and the solar-powered models do not require regular battery changes. A Casio Edifice becomes a watch that keeps up without requiring much maintenance.
Edifice or another Casio?
If you are looking for a more robust alternative for outdoors and shock protection, Casio G-Shock is built for that. If you prefer a cleaner, more minimalist design without a chronograph, Casio Timeless is a better fit, while Casio Vintage offers that classic digital retro aesthetic. Edifice stands for the sporty, analog, and precision-oriented side of Casio's range. If you are looking for a watch as a gift, Edifice is a rewarding choice among gifts for him.
How to choose the right Casio Edifice
Start with how you intend to use the watch. If you want the Edifice look at the lowest price, an EFV or EFR model with mineral glass is the right path. If you value scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, you should look at EFB or EFS. If you want to avoid regular battery changes, choose a solar-powered model in the ECB or EFS series. If you need automatic time adjustment for travel, ECB with Bluetooth is preferable. Also, consider the case size in relation to your wrist.
If you are unsure which model suits you, Kronura's customer service can help you choose the right one based on style, functions, and usage – get in touch with us and we will guide you. You can also find the full range of sporty and classic models under men's watches.
What is Casio Edifice?
Casio Edifice is Casio's series of sporty analog watches with a design language from motorsport. They are characterized by a chronograph, stainless steel, 10 ATM water resistance, and in many models, sapphire crystal or Bluetooth.
Do all Casio Edifice watches have a chronograph?
No, but most do. Almost all EFR and EFS models have a chronograph, while about half of the EFV and EFB models do. Check the specification for the individual watch.
What is the difference between EFV, EFR, EFB, ECB, and EFS?
EFV and EFR are the entry-level series with mineral glass and no Bluetooth. EFB has sapphire crystal on all models. ECB has Bluetooth, world time, and on several models, solar power. EFS combines sapphire crystal, chronograph, and solar power.
Does Casio Edifice have sapphire crystal?
About a third of the models in the range have sapphire crystal, including the entire EFB and EFS series and select EFR and ECB models. The others have mineral glass. The glass type is specified in the details for each model.
Is Casio Edifice waterproof?
All Edifice models in Kronura's range are water-resistant to 10 ATM. This is sufficient for bathing and swimming, but not for diving. Check the ATM value on the specific watch if you are purchasing from elsewhere.
Is Casio Edifice suitable as an office watch?
Yes. The steel and deep dials work well with a blazer, sizes range from 38 to 50 mm, and the Bluetooth models set the time via mobile, which is practical in professional life.
